An evening with Michael Hunt - Volume 3. Building a wall.

By now, everybody has heard of president Donald Trump’s idea to build a wall. There is a lot of controversy behind this policy, with many people with different political standpoints and affiliations coming out to show support or to protest this policy. Coming from the south west of the UK, I hear a lot of people talking about the idea of a wall being pointless, as the reasons for building a wall here are second to none. These are the people that this blog post is addressing.

Being from the south coast of Devon, it is extremely important to build a wall. It’s a standpoint that I believe many people fear speaking out about, due to the retaliation that people have previously had in the U.S.A because of it. People have been described as racist, and promoting hate speech, merely for showing adversary with the concept of a wall being built. I, Michael Hunt, believe that it is time to speak out.

I believe that it is fundamental for a wall to be built along the coast of Devon and Cornwall. We need to do this in order to protect ourselves, as the jobs of many are on the line if we do not build this wall. Whether you’re a Conservative, or just some lefty, it’s hard to deny that if we don’t build a wall, many people from the area will be out of work, which is never a positive thing for a local community. It also effects our children, as they may not receive access to education.

It is for this reason that I propose a wall to be built along the coast, with the start of the wall being in Dawlish. The Dawlish train line has had many issues with flooding for years, and has at times been out of service for a number of months. There aren’t other routes for trains to take, and it affects people commuting to work or to school/college. Building a wall will help to combat this flooding, as there is little to no sea defences in Dawlish as of the time of writing.

Build a wall, save our jobs, save our children.

Vote Michael Hunt.
